The Mona Lisa Mona or Portrait, is a painting by the artist Leonardo da Vinci, painted between 1503 and 1506 or between 1513 and 1516, and perhaps until 1519, which represents a half-body portrait, probably that of Florentine Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo. Acquired by François I, this oil painting on a wooden poplar panel measuring 77 × 53 cm is on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. The Mona Lisa is one of the few paintings that Leonardo da Vinci is definitely attributed to.
